Stay Connected with Streamate! Twitter – @streamatemodels Instagram – @streamate

So your model account on Streamate has just been approved… awesome! One of the perks of a new model account on Streamate is that you will be included within the ever-popular New Model category on the site! But how long do you retain “New Model” status? Watch now to find out!

Stepping away from cam for even a short amount of time can make you feel as though you’re totally out of the loop if you eventually decide to make a comeback. The model who wrote in below is seeking advice on how to build back up after a couple of years of being away after previously maintaining a regular, full-time cam schedule:

(NOTE: Original text has been redacted for privacy purposes)

Hi there.. I used to get advice from you a few years ago when I was camming frequently on SM.

I had moved away to the mountains for the past few years and hence did not have decent internet so was unable to cam. I have now moved coastal and have amazing internet . Upload speed 10, download speed 120, and am also using an I7 computer. All my tech specs are GREAT!
(Text ommitted) When I did this I started over a new account and therefore I am starting over with my placement. It seems that I am stuck on page 4 or sometimes even farther. I notice with the new account my rating is low. I have had shows and none of the guys rate me even tho I asked them to. The shows were good enough that I used up their daily limit, so I guess they forgot to rate.
Anyway.. Do you have any tips? I plan to be on here everyday going forward, but I need to know what I can do to boost my placement so I have traffic to make moolah!!  The guys seem to like me once they find me lol
Thanks so much for your help.
===================================================================================================
Thanks so much for reaching out!
Glad to have you back with us… it can be a little daunting to get back into the swing of things after  stepping away for a few months, let alone for a few years! 🙂 I’m happy to help get you re-established.
The good news is that traditional factors that you are already familiar with like stream quality, ratings, and time online all still factor in  when determining your placement on Streamate. You can reference where you are and how you’re doing for each stat on Streamate’s spectrum by checking Reports>My Ranking on your account dashboard. However, the newer component that has also been incorporated into placement is customer history. It’s best explained in the following excerpt from our March 2018 Model Newsletter (https://streamatehelp.com/march-2018-news-and-updates/) :

We’re excited to announce an update to Streamate members’ front pages! When a member logs on, they now see a unique list of performers based on their preferences and habits. This means your placement is no longer simply “high” or “low”—it’s different for each member. You’ll show up near the top of the page for members who are a good match, automatically pairing you with the viewers who are likely to enter your room and spend!

Our goal is to deliver relevant and high-quality results to all of our members, so your video quality, ratings, and consistency are still important factors that will help you stand out. You can read more details on the updated Placement help page, along with our best tips for being seen on as many members’ lists as possible!

It looks like you’re just getting started back up, so don’t worry! Keep working on your consistency of time online and your ratings, most importantly. Prompt members to rate you as you have in the past as soon as you enter into a paid chat session (so they don’t forget). I’m attaching the stats from my current view on the admin end for your account- all looks well, but I’ve underlined in red the 2 main things that you can try to focus on to get your placement up higher and get you in front of more eyes. Otherwise, as you increase your interactions with even more members, especially in scenarios where they spend (Gold tributes or Paid Shows) the more you will land relevant recommendations to other members that might also be a good “match” with your profile, so keep at it. 🙂
If you have questions or need support, reach out any time! 🙂
All the best,

Cassidy Nicole is a camgirl OG who got her start in 2009 before the big live cam “boom” in recent years. With a following that is currently bordering a quarter-million, Cassidy maintains a very laid-back and simplistic approach to her business.

She ventured into the world of live cams at the tender age of 19, when she tried her hand on a live ‘swingers’ site. After spending some time on a popular token-based cam site thereafter, Cassidy transitioned to Streamate’s pay-per-minute platform in 2011- the place she’s since called her cam “home.” What I appreciate about Cassidy as I’ve gotten a feel for her over the years, is that she genuinely loves what she does and is making her live cam business work for her, and not necessarily the other way around.

In this very candid interview, Cassidy offered tons of sound advice for new cam models who are getting their cam business off the ground. Watch the 2-part interview with Cassidy Nicole, available exclusively on our blog!

Be sure to follow Cassidy for daily updates on social media and catch her live cam shows on the Streamate Network.

If you need inspiration for this week/month/year that will change (or validate) your approach to your cam business, this is it.

During an open-table discussion at a recent women’s group meeting I attended, one of the members shared her aspirations to start a business selling handmade, “weird-looking” headbands. What was stopping her, as she explained to the group, was that she really didn’t know “how” to sell them: she felt very uncomfortable with promotion to friends or people in her network, let alone strangers. It was pretty clear that she was still very much in the conceptual stage of development, so the other ladies prompted her with some foundational questions like, ‘who’s your target market’ and ‘how/where do you plan on selling these headbands?’ or ‘how do you plan on marketing this product?’

She didn’t have a cohesive plan in place, nor did she have a decisive answer to any of the questions being posed by the ladies of the group.

The hostess of the group then asked, “Have you ever heard of the Golden Circle concept?”

It’s not what you do, but why you do it.

Think about some of your personal favorite’s that you follow online- brands that influence you, people that you look up to, or accounts that you simply look forward to seeing updates from. Why do you follow them? What ways do you feel like you connect with them? Is it through the words that they say? Is it their personality? Now apply these same questions to your own business.

If you’re keen on Ted Talk’s, there’s a good chance that you’ve run across a segment called ‘Start with Why’ by speaker, professor, and author Simon Sinek. Regardless of whether you’ve already seen this or not, I’d like to encourage you to give it a watch (see video above). In this talk, Mr. Sinek references “the Golden Circle”: why, how, what.

The “why” is the purpose, cause, or belief that inspires you to do what you do. Mr. Sinek’s observation is that most businesses and individuals tend to focus on “what” (the actual product or service) rather than the “why” when it comes to communicating their message to potential consumers. The error in this pattern, Mr. Sinek suggests, is that thinking, acting, and communicating from the outside-in will not inspire others to  connect with you or take action. Rather, communicating from the inside-out will attract and inspire audiences/consumers/followers who align with your beliefs. This idea can be applied to just about any pursuit in life, but in terms of camming, this is also relevant.

So why is “why” important?

“Why” will set you apart as a unique and individual performer. “Why” will allow you to connect with your audience, and inspire action. Consumers, according to Mr. Sinek, will not buy “what” you do, but “why” you do it. This concept can be applied to every aspect of your business, from your presence on social media, to your actual cam shows, and what you choose to write on your public model profile.

Let’s use a simple example: why members should take you Private.

Approach #1: What>How>Why

I do private shows.

I’m really great at fellatio.

Take me private.

Approach #2: Why>How>What

I’m sensual and very eager and willing to please.

I enjoy taking my time with you in order to fulfill your deepest desires. I am an expert at fellatio.

Let’s connect in a private session.

How does ‘Why’ apply to you as a cam model?

Think about ‘why’ you are doing your shows. Essentially, viewers can enter Private or tip whomever they’d like, so what is it about you that compels your viewers to spend their hard-earned dollars on you? It comes down to your message, and not solely the “what”- the service that you are offering. If you think about it, every other model that is online is also offering a service of some sort… that’s the premise behind the platform. Narrow down the “why” into a genuine message that will translate to your audience, whether verbally or how it is delivered through the text on your profile, or even through your interactions in both pre-show and during an actual show.

What sets you apart as an individual from the thousands of other performers on the internet is you. Let yourself be the driving force for inspiration from the way you conduct your shows, to how you communicate with your audience, and the type of content that you release.

The next time you go live, or send out a tweet, or decide on the theme of the day in your chat room, keep in perspective why you are doing what you do.

Do You!
